Great food and a fun atmosphere. Check it out in Clearwater!
The weekend of Oct 23rd was busy for us! After meeting the girls for the Dunedin bike ride on Saturday morning, we stopped by Nauti Nancy’s, a delightful new lesbian owned and operated restaurant, wine/beer bar, and “hangout” located at 700 Eldridge in Clearwater (about 4 blocks north of Drew).727-446-3717.
We walked through the restaurant into the big courtyard that instantly reminded us of the old “Lighted Tree” from days gone by. Nancy greeted us with the biggest warm hug and her staff was right there to make everyone entering the doors feel right at home and like family. Nancy has been very busy building up a local following for her excellent Seafood and Barbeque and we were lucky enough to try it first hand for lunch. Nancy makes everything from scratch and preps and cooks for each individual order, nothing from a box here!
We enjoyed the most delicious Buffalo shrimp sandwich with homemade blue cheese dressing and shaved celery, lettuce and tomato. I’m still craving another one! We also had her #1 request, the linguine with clams, shrimp, and mussels. So many fresh clams and mussels in their shells, all perfectly cooked, with fresh garlic, parsley, and all sorts of yummi-ness. And she brought by homemade beignet-type treats covered with confectioners sugar, an off-the-menu treat she surprises her diners with on occasion. We loved the fact that her menu is so fresh, yet so affordable. The prices range from $4.95 to $9.95, prices we don’t see for food like this anymore. (Don’t tell Nancy !)
As we relaxed in the courtyard of tables with umbrellas on a perfect Saturday afternoon and people watched, we learned that Nancy and her partner Pam are also opening the Nauti-Nancy courtyard to live music. We had such a nice lunch and relaxing afternoon and we can’t wait to go back for more of the good times and good food.
