The Sonia Plotnick Health Fund has awarded its first two scholarships to students at Saint Petersburg College.  Both women have received a $500 scholarship towards their studies.  Greta Middlebrooks is following her heart as a freshman in the dental hygiene program and plans to work in public health upon graduation.  Giselle Rodriguez a native Puerto Rican is finishing up her A.S. in Emergency Medical Services.  She recently passed her EMT certification with high scores.

Supporting women in healthcare is part of the mission for the Sonia Plotnick Health Fund. The organization raises monies in the Tampa Bay area to provide financial assistance to women needing help paying for health related expenses.

SPHF Board of Directors has been so excited by the scholarship program they will be expanding to develop and in house program that can assist women in the healthcare field going to technical schools and other higher education institutions.  If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Board of Directors to be a leader and help to develop this, please apply on line at sphf.org.
